Full Stack MERN Developer

We are seeking a highly skilled Full Stack MERN Developer to join our team. This position requires strong technical expertise, project management capabilities, and leadership in web and mobile application development. The ideal candidate must be proficient in MongoDB, Express.js, React.js, and Node.js (MERN stack) and have experience with project management tools like JIRA, Agile methodologies, and Scrum sprints. 

Job Summary: 

The developer will provide oversight, solution architecture, research & analysis, design, and programming expertise to ensure the successful development, deployment, and life cycle support of mobile and web-based applications. 

The quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of applications under this position’s oversight are of the utmost importance to key stakeholders, including leadership, staff, customers, and partners. 

Key Responsibilities: 

Technical Leadership & Project Oversight: 

• Take ownership of projects with minimum supervision, making independent decisions to ensure successful execution. 

• Guide and direct project teams, ensuring that programming standards are met, and deliverables align with business requirements. 

• Lead Agile/Scrum processes, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and sprint reviews. 

• Utilize JIRA for backlog management, issue tracking, and sprint monitoring. 

Full Stack Development & API Integration: 

• Design and develop scalable web and mobile applications using the MERN stack (MongoDB, Express.js, React.js, Node.js, React Native). 

• Implement and integrate third-party payment gateways such as PayPal, Stripe, and other APIs. 

• Develop secure and high-performance RESTful APIs and GraphQL endpoints for seamless integration. 

• Ensure cross-platform responsiveness and optimization for web and mobile applications. 

DevOps, Cloud, & Deployment: 

• Deploy applications on AWS (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, DynamoDB) and manage cloud infrastructure. 

• Handle mobile app deployment on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. 

• Implement CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Bitbucket Pipelines, or Jenkins. 

• Utilize Docker and Kubernetes for containerization and application scaling. 

Quality Assurance & Best Practices: 

• Conduct unit testing, integration testing, regression testing, and system testing to ensure quality deliverables. 

• Conduct code reviews and peer reviews to maintain coding standards and best practices. 

• Implement security best practices, including authentication, authorization, and data encryption. 

Collaboration & Mentorship: 

• Work closely with UI/UX designers, product managers, and other developers to enhance application quality. 

• Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance to improve team productivity. 

• Actively participate in knowledge-sharing sessions and team discussions. 

Required Skills & Qualifications: 

Education & Experience: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience). 

• Proven experience as a Full Stack Developer, with a portfolio showcasing completed projects. 

• 3+ years of experience developing and deploying web applications using MERN stack. 

Technical Skills: 

• Proficiency in MERN stack (MongoDB, Express.js, React.js, Node.js, React Native). 

• Strong experience with SQL and NoSQL databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB). 

• Frontend development expertise, including HTML, CSS/SCSS, JavaScript, jQuery, XML. 

• Experience with server-side CSS preprocessors like LESS and SASS. 

• Knowledge of Git, GitHub, Bitbucket, and version control best practices. 

• Familiarity with RESTful APIs, GraphQL, WebSockets, and third-party API integrations. 

• Strong understanding of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipelines. 

• Experience deploying and maintaining AWS-based applications. 

• Familiarity with mobile app deployment on Apple App Store and Google Play Store. 

• Experience using AI tools like ChatGPT to accelerate development, debugging, and documentation. 

Project Management & Agile Skills: 

• Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams, participating in sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives. 

• Proficiency in JIRA, Confluence, and backlog management for tracking and resolving issues efficiently. 

• Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and deliver high-quality applications in a fast-paced environment. 

Soft Skills: 

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify and fix technical issues. 

• Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision. 

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. 

• Collaboration and leadership to mentor junior developers and work within cross-functional teams. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Experience with TypeScript for improved code quality and type safety. 

• Knowledge of Microservices Architecture and Serverless Computing. 

• Familiarity with Web3, blockchain, and AI integrations. 

• Experience in optimizing large-scale applications for performance and scalability.
